You must be thinking, not another foundation. There are plenty of them helping stray animals already. That is right. However, it is a big world we live in and most organisations are still working locally.

Andalusia is a beautiful part of South Spain attracting many tourists in the summer. Unfortunately, the region also has many stray animals living in pathetic conditions.

Gino has lived in Spain for years and is deeply concerned about those animals. He tries to help out wherever possible, usually taking personal care of the saddest cases (currently he has 16 dogs and 8 cats). Gino does not need to search for these animals; he simply bumps into them on his way to the supermarket or along the highway. Some of them have just been thrown out of a car and have been searching for their owners in panic for days, hoping to find some food and water.

To Gino taking care of the animals has become a daily task. He sometimes works with the local vet to pay for the medical expenses. Of course, expenses soon mount up. The animals have to eat, they need to be vaccinated, treated for worms or sterilized, some need medicines or surgery. It is a never-ending story and there are so many animals that need help.

What do we want?

With this website we want to draw animal lovers’ attention to the foundation’s purpose. To be perfectly clear: except for the vet all supporters volunteer their services, which means all the money goes to the animals because Andalusia’s stray animals need all the help they can get.

It is a dual target: first of all we need to bring in money to help as many animals as possible. Help can be anything from pulling a dog with broken legs out of the gutter and curing him if possible, to local sterilisations. Our eventual target is to open a home where cats and dogs will be most welcome, where they can walk around in peace as long as it takes without having to put them down within a month (this, unfortunately, is the case at the state-owned shelters).

Naturally, first we try to find new owners in Spain. We have discovered, however, that Spanish people are less likely to adopt an adult animal. So, for these animals we try to find new owners in the Netherlands. The animals offered are good-natured, healthy and have received the necessary vaccinations.

New owners pay € 210,00 mediation costs.

Wanna help?

You can become a supporter: every little helps but of course structural help is also most welcome. Or perhaps you like the idea of becoming a “Foster Parent”. You transfer a sum of money (automatically if you wish) which we spend on a dog or cat of your choice, it is easier than having to spend a large sum once a year. And perhaps the idea of having an (adopted) animal abroad is a heart-warming one.

Should you have any animal-loving friends or family members who might want to contribute and help us ease the animals’ pain, please let them know about us.
