Hallo animal lovers

I am happy you have found my website. It probably means that, just like me, you are an animal lover. Let me introduce myself: my name is Gino Felleman and I have been living in the south of Spain for 40 years.

Since I was a child I have been concerned about the suffering of animals, I wanted to help all “poor” animals. As a small boy I used to save my pocket money to buy petfood and was able to feed them. While classmates were picked up by their parents, I was usually welcomed by dogs at the school gate. I soon earned the nickname ‘niño de los perros’ (boy of the dogs). Over the years my passion to help stray animals increased. I do my utmost to help these poor wretches who lead such difficult lives, especially here in Andalusia.  People who, as you may well know, put their pets in tied-up garbage bags in containers, or leave them in the road are heartless barbarians. What do you do when you come across a neglected animal? You cannot just leave it. These sad experiences worry me. So I do something and take them home with me. I try to ease their suffering by caring for them and giving them attention. Their trust and gratitude which develop over time, give me the strength to go on.

The holidays make my ‘hair turn grey’ because this when many animals are dumped and my private shelter can sometimes just not cope. I sometimes worry where I should leave them all. What I need are (temporary) adoption addresses.

Over the years I have provided shelter to a great many dogs, cats, donkeys and even many birds. I have found good homes for many of them and others live with me. Every year many animals come and go. I hope to be able to expand my private shelter into a paradise for all homeless animals. They can spend their old age with me or other friends and animal lovers.

If after reading my story you feel inspired and would like to help, but do not know how. Then please send me an e-mail and you will receive information and a reply to your questions.  You don’t know how? Send me a mail and you will receive a small information package.

Kindest regards,

Gino Felleman

Love for animals

At the age of three he was already showing a deep love for animals. His room was covered by animal pictures and animal items. On the wall, the bed, his wardrobe and on the doors. Animals were all over the place. They dominated his world.

He used to imitate the donkey so well his grandma thought it really was the donkey.

Things have not changed since then ……………. 45 year later many people know about Gino and his love for animals. They often use (sometimes abuse) his help. Whenever a dog is ill or has had an accident, it is thrown into Gino’s house because he will take care of it. They know Gino will either arrange for a home or take the animal to the vet. He will always try to help the animal as much as he can. Of course sometimes the animals are in such a bad condition they have to be put down, to Gino’s great sorrow.

He pays for everything out of his own pocket, the bit of money he sometimes receives for his cats and dogs shelter. Everything, and I mean everything, comes in second, as long as the animals are not left to their own devices. We offered him a trip several times, perhaps he could go and visit his friends in the Netherlands. But he simply refused saying “Who would take care of the animals?” Animals are his first priority. His mother and I believe that, one day, he will be generously rewarded for his efforts and dedication. More Gino’s would have made the world a much more peaceful place.

So I am asking you:

HELP GINO CONTINUE TO DO THIS GREAT WORK.

Jessica Griekspoor

Let me introduce myself… My name is Jessica Griekspoor. I live in the Netherlands. I am the visitor’s first contact with the foundation. A few years ago my husband and I met Gino and we were both deeply impressed by his love and devotion to animals. When Gino asked us to help, I did not hesitate. Gino does the REAL WORK …I take care of the website, try to find supporters, sponsors, arrange promotions, newsletters and so on.

My husband and I have sheep, chickens, cats and three (formerly) stray dogs. Two arrived from Spain, one from Romania. It is great to see these animals, that used to live terrible lives, regain faith in humans with a touch of love and attention. The special thing about stray animals is that they never forget about their past, they remain grateful for the love you give them, every day.

Hit “Gino’s dogs” button for pictures and background stories of stray animals that Gino literally dragged out of the gutter. Now they are receiving the love and attention they deserve.

The foundation has now been operating for over a year and despite the slow start, things are starting to pick up. May I therefore express my gratitude to the many loyal foster parents and supporters for their help from the foundation’s start.

To help us or to find out more about the foundation, please visit the site or simply contact us.
